Dear Stormy is an advice column written in the voice of a dog. It is offered for entertainment and general information only. Nothing on this site is veterinary, medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice, and it is not a substitute for talking to a qualified professional who knows your situation. If your dog is sick, call your vet. If you are in crisis, contact a local emergency service or crisis line. Stormy loves you, but he is not licensed for any of that.
When you send a letter to Stormy, you are giving us permission to publish it, in whole or in part, on this website, in the Dear Stormy newsletter, on social media, and in print or digital collections such as books, in every format now known or later developed, without payment to you. We may edit letters for length, clarity, and to protect your privacy. We may also decline to publish a letter for any reason.
Letters are published anonymously. We remove or change names, places, and other identifying details. You promise that your letter is your own, that it’s true to the best of your knowledge, and that it doesn’t reveal private information about someone else that they’d have a reasonable expectation to keep private. You can ask us to remove a published letter at any time by emailing Stormy@DearStormy.com; we’ll take it down from the site and newsletter archive, though we can’t recall printed copies or posts already shared by others.
Everything on this site that we created, including columns, articles, illustrations, photos, videos, logos, and the Dear Stormy name, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You’re welcome to share links and short quotes with credit. Please don’t copy, republish, or sell our content without written permission. Guest articles remain the property of their authors and are published here with permission.
