Dear Stormy,
My family claims I’m “spoiled,” but somehow my bowl is empty several times a day. That feels medically suspicious.
They also refuse to provide enough treats, chew sticks, snacks, backup snacks, or emergency snacks.
Meanwhile they eat chips on the couch right in front of me like wealthy villains.
I’ve started chewing random household items out of protest and suddenly I’m “destructive.”
How do I explain that I’m not acting out? I’m underfunded.
🐾 Dear Underfunded,
First of all, if I can see the bottom of the bowl, we have a crisis.
Humans always say:
“You JUST ate.”
Correct. And yet I remain brave enough to eat again.
Also, chewing things is completely normal. You can’t deny an animal treats all day and then act shocked when a flip-flop gets emotionally processed.
Now should you chew the wall? No. That’s crackhead behavior.
But a nice bully stick? A frozen Kong? A medically unnecessary handful of treats because life is hard? Absolutely.
And if they keep eating rotisserie chicken in front of you without sharing, I fully support dramatic sighing and filing emotional complaints with management.
🐾 Pack Tip:
A dog with extra enrichment is peaceful. A bored dog starts making renovation decisions.
